Mitch Hackney: Why I Want to Help You

My name is Mitch Hackney and I want to help you take the test the best!  My personal story chronicles my history of living in both the U.S. and Canada and in several states.  I believe it also helps you get to know me and why I want to help you.

I began my mortgage career shortly after graduating from North Texas State College in January 1960.

I became a Real Estate Broker in the state of Texas prior to graduating from NTSC
Family moved to Vancouver, BC, Canada in 1967 as vocational missionaries.  I became first an agent, then a real estate broker, all while originating mortgages, staying 10+ years.

I Returned to U.S. in January 1978, intending to return to former employer in Dallas, but could not make the commitment at that time.  I moved to Seattle instead and stayed 22+ years.

I then began teaching pre-licensing mortgage classes, at the urging of Washington’s premier instructor.  I taught for over five years prior to starting my own small school that I operated for two + years.   Followed the same pattern as before, also getting my real estate agent’s license; then my broker’s license, all while originating home loans.  Became branch manager for GMAC Mortgage and was awarded the Chairman of the Board and the President of GMAC’s letter for outstanding expertise in managing the most efficient branch west of the Mississippi.

I left GMAC after a change in presidents and became a mortgage broker for approximately nine years prior to returning to Texas in January 2000.   I rested for a year, then took up the business again, and opened my own net branch within a year.  While operating my own branch I transitioned over to specializing in Reverse Mortgages.  I connected with AmeriNET Mortgage for about five years until fraud on the part of some brokers and some borrowers required them to re-purchase so many loans that they lost their mortgage banker status.  I moved to America Home Key/Glenn Mortgage Group where I currently am.

Shortly after setting up my own net branch I began teaching again- this time for the premier education provider in the state of Texas.  During this time I developed the material for my second book, “The Little Red Book of Real Estate and Mortgage Finance SECRETS”.   Also, during this time, and particularly during the past year and a half, I compiled the material for what has turned out to be a very helpful prep test for anyone required to take the National component of the new SAFE ACT.  This is separate material from my TEXAS TIPS which has been critical to the success of many who have been required to take the Texas component of the SAFE ACT.

I want to help you take the test the best!
